Keep safe this summer

There are already indications this summer is going to be a long, hot one. And while most people living in fire (or severe weather) prone areas, have you thought about what you would do if you were to experience fire, flood or a cyclone while on your family holiday?

I have previously collated important information and links for you to use when planning your holiday, which you can access here.

In order to keep safe, it is important to be aware of the potential weather risks when you are travelling through, or holidaying in, areas you are unfamiliar with.

If you have pre-booked and paid for accommodation in bushfire-prone areas, it would also pay to check the property’s policy in relation to cancellations on Extreme and Code Red fire danger days. The Victorian CFA advises to never travel into a bushfire-prone area if a Code Red has been declared.

And most of all, have a happy and safe family holiday.
