Beauty samples perfect for holidays

The bellabox June sample box.

I often get approached to promote products and services on my blog. However, I rarely accept sponsored content because I stay true to my focus, which is family holidays.

But when I received an email about an Australian website that specialises in sample boxes of beauty minis, I was hooked. See, I am a bit of a beauty mini hoarder. You should see me when I find an unexpected sample in the bottom of a store bag. I almost do a mini-jig.

But what do I use them for? Holidays of course. They are the perfect splurge for a time-poor mum who will have some much anticipated bathroom time to pamper herself while on holidays.

Every time I go away, I go to my own basket of minis and choose a few to take away with me – maybe a face mask or hair treatment. Then there are the cleanser and moisturiser samples that are the perfect size for a couple of nights away. No need to fill your suitcase with your beauty regime.

Picked up my bellabox package from my post box on the way back from the supermarket. Guess what got opened first?

bellabox is an Australian beauty products website with a difference – it gives you the opportunity to try before you buy a product by offering a sample box subscription.

Every month, you receive a gorgeous box containing 5 samples based on your personalised profile.

But while the focus of bellabox is about trying before you buy, I immediately saw another use for them. And that is as a way to collect a range of small beauty products to use on your holiday – or maybe even a business trip.

It’s particularly useful in this regard because you can take out a monthly subscription plan which you can cancel at any time – so why not sign up a few months before your holiday and start building a collection?

For this month (June) only, bellabox is offering a special for new members. For a limited time, everyone signing up with bellabox can sample the same products, a range which I think is just perfect for a holiday in the snow or sun.

They are a 250ml Original Source Skin Quench watermelon and jojoba oil shower gel, a Burt’s Bees Beeswax lip balm, a Jean Patou perfume sample, an Aveda damage remedy hair treatment sample and a Universal Beauty Products tint stick (a new product that is like a texta for your lips. Pretty cool).

Not seen this one before - one of the samples in the June bellabox, a lip tint stick.

This box, like all monthly subscription sample boxes, costs $17.95 ($15 + $2.95 postage and handling). Payment is via credit card of PayPal.

Now is the perfect time to start stocking up on some beauty minis for the September school holidays. So, if you are interested, why not give the bellabox June sample box a go.

In the meantime, a word of advice for those of you with daughters. Be careful not to leave your bellabox on the kitchen bench because before you know it, your products will most likely be opened and tried by someone other than yourself!

My own beauty minis basket - it's where I delve into before heading on holiday. And my bellabox samples will be added to it too.

But, you have a compromise offer – the gorgeous blue and white spotted bellabox. No recycling bin for this one. It was quickly claimed by Miss 10 and was last seen being taken into her bedroom (without the samples of course – they are now part of my beauty minis basket).
